OBJECTIVES OF PATIENT RIGHTS


1. Support and social empowerment of patients

2. Helping patients to take full advantage of healthcare services,

3. Supporting and improving relationships between patients and healthcare professionals,

4. To increase healthcare efficienciy by making patient training a general practice,

5. Creating cooperation and communication opportunities between people and institutions that receive, provide and mediate healthcare services, strengthen existing ones, thus creating a more effective and reliable model,

6. To provide internal control in the healthcare environment by establishing application mechanisms for patient rights.


Right to protective measures;

Each person has the right to receive appropriate services to prevent disease. In order to achieve this goal, the task of health services is to ensure that everyone can benefit from health services and scientific research results and technological innovations.


Right to benefit;

Every person has the right to benefit from healthcare services to meet their health needs. Health services should be provided equally to all, and no discrimination should be made on the type, time of illness, place of residence or financial resources.


Right to information;

Each individual has the right to receive information about his or her health status, existing health services and how to benefit from them, and all scientific research and technological innovations. Health services, healthcare providers must provide information in a language that is easily accessible and understood by the patient. Patients have the right to obtain information about themselves and their illness in their own files and records, to reproduce them by photocopying, to ask questions and to request correction of any errors.


Right to consent;

Every person has the right to receive relevant information so that he or she can participate in decisions regarding their own health. This information is essential for any procedure and treatment, including scientific research participation.


Right to choose a physician;

Every person with sufficient knowledge has the right to choose between different treatment methods and the people who will give the treatment. The patient has the right to decide which diagnosis and treatment method will be used and the choice of doctor, specialist or hospital. Health services should ensure that this right can be exercised by providing information about the results obtained with the various health institutions and doctors who will apply this treatment. All obstacles restricting the exercise of this right should be removed.


The right to privacy and confidentiality;

Personal information of each individual; It has the right to demand confidentiality regarding the health status, diagnosis and treatment, as well as the confidentiality of the diagnosis and treatment or the protection of private visits. Information and data regarding an individual's health condition or treatment administered to her/him should be confidential and preserved. Even during medical intervention, personal confidentiality should be respected, that is, it should be done in the appropriate environment and with the people who really need to be present.


Respect for the patients' time;

Every individual has the right to receive the necessary treatment quickly and within the prescribed time. This right applies to all stages of treatment. It is the duty of healthcare services to determine the waiting times, taking into account the services to be provided within a certain period of time. If health services cannot be provided within the predetermined period, the possibility of using alternative services of the same quality should be guaranteed and the expenses resulting from this should be refunded to the patients within a reasonable time. Physicians should devote sufficient time to their patients, including time to inform.


Receiving respect;

Every individual has the right to receive health care in a friendly, gentle, affectionate and hygienic environment with respect, care and attention, and in an environment where noise and all disturbing factors are eliminated.


Fulfilling religious duties;

The organization has the right to fulfill its religious obligations within the limits of its possibilities and within the framework of the measures taken by the administration.


Right to visit and companion;

Every individual has the right to receive visitors in accordance with the procedures and principles determined by the institution, to request to have a companion in accordance with the legislation and possibilities and if the physician deems appropriate.


The right to quality standards;

Every individual has the right to benefit from high quality health care. The right to quality healthcare requires healthcare institutions and healthcare personnel to provide satisfactory levels of technical performance, comfort and human relations.


Security Right;

Every individual has the right to be protected from malfunctioning health care, medical inaccuracies and injuries, and have the right to benefit from health services and treatments that meet high safety standards.
